Characteristics of LWL Screw Filter Centrifuges
The LWL screw filter centrifuge is a high-speed rotary filter centrifuge.
Under strong centrifugal forces, the raw materials undergo rapid dewatering through the stainless steel sieve mesh of the filtering cylindrical screen while the spiral leaf on the screw pusher continuously discharges the sediment. Industrial screw filter centrifuges achieve separation factors up to 3,000. They are compact, efficient, and produce low moisture content in the filter cake. These centrifuges offer high throughput, low per-unit production costs, insensitivity to slight variations in feed concentration, and the ability to handle viscous materials. Their energy consumption per unit production is low, with ratios of 1:6.5 compared to vertical scraper centrifuges and 1:3.5 compared to piston feed centrifuges.
**Deficiencies of Screw Filter Centrifuges Compared to Other Types**
The primary drawbacks of LWL screw filter centrifuges include: 1. **Material Loss**: Fine solid particles can leak into the filtrate (material loss), resulting in high solid content in the filtrate, which requires sedimentation treatment or reintegration into the production process. 2. **Poor Filter Cake Washing**: The dynamic filtration process leads to inefficient cake washing and significant damage to crystalline particles during separation.
